Jessica King was a teenager who died by suicide.
“We prefer to be called the living challenged,” Jessica told Townieplace.ca through a séance. “Referring to us as the D word is harmful. The last time somebody referred to me as the D word, I was so triggered, I almost died a second death.”
When George Barter returned from the Korean War, he used humor to deal with the trauma.
“When I was alive, I used to crack dark jokes all the time,” George told Townieplace.ca. “These days, I can’t even say boo to somebody without people being offended. Every time I haunt people, they don’t get scared, they get offended.”
