I have a client who wants to sell her digital art on Red Bubble and Deviant Art. She wants a web page to link her stores and her social media profiles together. What my client wants is a landing page.
Not only are landing pages convient for the customers, but they also increase their search engine optimization. There are two types of landing pages: reference and transactional. Check out Wikipedia for more information on landing pages.
At first, I suggested that my client create a page with Linktree. Linktree is a freemium social media reference landing page. It is made to provide a landing page for a person or company’s entire associated links in social media. Linktree is very user-friendly and you don’t need any web design skills. There are a couple of disadvantages to using Linktree. First off, the URL of your page can be confusing. Most people are used to typing URLs such as Website.com, Website.ca, Website.co.uk, etc in their browsers. If you use the free version of LinkTree, your URL (or web address) will be Linktr.ee/Yourwebsite. This is the type of URL people are not used to. Another disadvantage to using Linktree is that you can only add links to your page.
If you use WordPress to create a landing page, you can add an about page, a blog, and a contact form to your site. You can also add plugins to your site and there also many customizable themes to choose from.
